Spotting

Description:

I took this picture last week and am wondering what type of mushroom this is and if it's edible. Different sizes and shapes of brown mushrooms grouped together and around one there is a white looking substance, I did not touch because I'm unsure if it's safe.

Habitat:

Surrounded by some type of clover growing in the yard that I'm not sure of what is. This is a wooded area behind this group of clover and mushrooms.

Could be ringless honey mushroom, Desarmillaria. If so there's a buried root or stump under there. The plant is ground ivy.

Changed Category to Fungi for you; Cheryl25.
Bridgeway School Room 10, well spotted.

Mushrooms are fungi, not plants.
