Polistes fuscatus aurifer
Mostly yellow and black with legs and wings a little orange coloring. Wings are narrow and thin. They are social wasps and build their nests anywhere that will protect them from the elements.
I've found there nests in posts, under eaves, in guarails. Just about anywhere Found near a canal guarding their home in the sign post.
I have another hobby I do and spotted this while I was there. Well there were more then this one and I get nervous around them. They seem to always watch you and seem pretty smart. Never been stung by one and rather not so I try to be cautious and respect their space.
