Description:

Family: Cervidae. Medium size deer. 5-6 deer spotted. Also known as the Virginia Deer. Bright reddish brown summer coat. Duller grayish brown winter coat. Long-legged, fast moving. White underside tail. Large eyes with white eye ring. Large ears. White on throat area. White belly. Height 0.9 - 1 m tall (3 - 3.50 ft.) Weight: Females (as shown) 90 kg (200 lbs.) . Herbivores: leaves, grass, bark, acorns and other plant matter.

Habitat:

Deciduous woodlands and forests, conifer forests, rainforest, grasslands and even deserts. This habitat is open woodlands in a country setting near hills and mountains. Range: Continental USA, except 5 states in the southwest. range is also in Mexico, Central America and Northern South America.

Notes:

Thanksgiving Visitors (night flash) distance of 25 yards. White-tailed deer is the state animal of Pennsylvania where these were spotted. (Many subspecies)
