Hibiscus cardiophyllus

Description:

Named for its heart-shaped leaves, this compact perennial is covered with numerous 1-1/2" to 2" scarlet flowers that open for a day. Heart-leaf hibiscus is very drought tolerant, and long-lived if protected from the cold. It is excellent as a specimen plant or in mass plantings. The plant blooms for months and often self-seeds.
