Description:

Large fly with spiky hairs on the all shiny black abdomen. Gray fuzzy thorax and sark eyes. A brown tinge at the base of the wings, rest of wings clear.

Habitat:

The bloom is of a silver and gold groundcover, Ajania pacifica. It has bright golden-yellow button-like flowers that adorn the plant in late fall.
