Sarota gyas CRAMER, 1775
This super cute butterfly has a very rapid and erratic flight that can be mistaken for a fly.I have spot it in the evening and at that time it seemed quite lazy and slow. Both sexes of all Sarota species are characterised by having dull blackish or brownish uppersides which in some species are marked with suffused whitish spots. The undersides are reddish orange, marked with metallic silver streaks and lines, small black spots, and yellow margins. Other Sarota characteristics include disproportionately long antennae in relation to wing size, and furry legs.

Thank you all for you comments, it was an interesting discovery. I went in an area where I spotted several blue morphos, carrying rotten papayas and bananas, it was in the hilly area with lots of streams next to a retention lake. However it was in the semi-deforested part of the Amazon, so my finding shouldn't be something extremely rare ;) luckily we'll give it a name at some point! Never seen any butterfly with legs as thick as those, super funny!
