A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Ammophila procera
A. procera is a widespread and common species in eastern North America. It has fairly distinctive, bold silver dashes (front-most interrupted) on the thorax, and is one of the largest members of the genus.
The bloom is of a silver and gold groundcover, Ajania pacifica. It has bright golden-yellow button-like flowers that adorn the plant in late fall.
