Description:

The female is more beautiful (and this is an exception among butterflies, as the rule is that the male is always more beautiful) . The one sitting on the apple is the female. The one on the leaf is the male. 0n the red apple you can see the underside of the female.

Habitat:

All over peninsular India

Notes:

The females are fearless and stay on the fruits of fruit vendors on the busy city roadside.

Female of Common Baron in 1st and 3rd picture and observe little larger in Wing size compared to Male butterfly ...
You have to suggest ID only other user's unidentified Spottings. You have to edit and just update details once you find correct ID of your spotted organism.
