Butorides virescens
Small heron that can look short until it stretches out. Black capped with chestnut color from side of neck to down the flanks. White stripes from chin to belly. Yellow eyes and grayish dagger bill. Back and wings are greenish dark gray. Short yellow-green legs.
This was found by a small lake.
