Longjawed Orbweaver

Tetragnatha sp.

Description:

I wouldn't have even known to look for a spider if it weren't for the spider web. It blends in so well with its coloration and it hides on the underside of its perch. By bringing its legs straight in front of it, it is able to hide from predators looking at the branch from above.

Habitat:

Dead tree in a suburban backyard
