There bodies are shaped like wedges or half-circles. They are bright green and resemble leaves, even down to the 'veins'. They are agile jumpers, and leap from plant to plant, to feed on them. They also quickly hop away from perceived danger. Adults, feed on the juices of plants. I went outside at 8:00 a.m. in the morning, and I saw this bright green insect, resting on the hood of my car. It's wings were longer than its abdomen. It's wings were held tent like over its body. It had a yellow-green line, in the center of its wings, and it ran down, the entire length of its wings. It had a green head. It had two antennae. It had brown legs. It was three eights of an inch long. This insect was alive, and able to fly. A planthopper, is a True Bug. This insect, was a planthopper.
