Amanita Vaginata
Amanita vaginata, commonly known as the grisette, is an edible mushroom in the Amanitaceae family of fungi. Unlike many other Amanita mushrooms, A. vaginata lacks a ring on the stem. The cap is gray or brownish, 5 to 10 centimetres (2.0 to 3.9 in) in diameter, and has furrows around the edge that duplicate the gill pattern underneath. It has a widespread distribution in North America, and is thought to be part of a species complex that includes other similar-looking Amanitas. Wikipedia

Thank you of the ID CorduneanuVlad. It does look like Amanita Vaginata. Next time I will make sure to get a photo of the base of the stem.
This is either the Grisette (Amanita Vaginata) or the Tawny Grisette (Amanita Fulva), depending on the size. And if I could see the base of the stem I could tell you exactly which one is it.
Just by the color itself I would say that this is A. Vaginata.
@birdlady6000: the cap was about 2.5 in wide and 2.5 in high.
Can you give any more information on the size of the cap, overall height of the mushroom, etc. Really hard to ID mushrooms but I still love to try!
Gorgeous!
