40+yr old turtle has lived his life in California. He has been well loved and lived in shingle springs most of his life

Notes:

Has been fed lettuce and some canned cat food. Burrows in the winter to hibernate

I added more pictures. I know he is between 40-50yrs old, he lived with my grandmother for most of that time.

Would you be able to get some more views of him? (side view and underside, perhaps). He looks like a box turtle of some type to me, but I am not a turtle expert. :-)

He is our pet, I do not know the species. I was hoping that someone could identify that.
