Hi Jellyfishnebula, this is a very neat spotting! It looks like this Bee is large, was it big? Do you have any other views of the bee (like from the side)? There are a couple of possibilities for species. Was the whole bee furry or just the thorax?

It could be a species of Bumble Bee but I am not sure.
