Description:

Photo take in a jungle path find this small red bird taking a bad, I never see a red bird in this area very rare to me.Adults have stout pointed bills and measure 17 cm in length and 29 g in weight.

Habitat:

Their breeding habitat is open wooded areas, especially with oaks, across the southern United States, extending as far north as Iowa. These birds migrate to Mexico, Central America and northern South America. This tanager is an extremely rare vagrant to western Europe.

Would probably not bad if ou check this one as well. It is the male, juveniles and females look different, more greenish/yellowish. Younger males are checkered.
