Basking on an exposed log in the middle of a large pond. Temperature at 49 degrees (Fahrenheit) - sunny with no clouds. Temperatures over the past week have been in the low-to-mid 50's during the day time, and as low as 26 degrees at night.

I observed Northern Red-bellied Cooters basking in this area 3 days before this spotting on January 7th with temps at 49 degrees.
