Cyclochila australasiae
It measures about 4 cm (1.6 in) in length, with a wingspan of 11–13 cm (4–5 in). Diverse colour forms are seen, the most common being predominantly green or brownish yellow. It has red eyes.
I actually found this particular one inside my green waste bin supplied by my local council. I imagine when I was pruning bushes/trees in my garden yesterday it must of been in among what I'd cut, and I didn't notice.

Thank you Michael. Yes I did see cicadas flying around the top of one of the trees in my garden several days earlier, but couldn't see what type they were clearly as it was getting dark, and yes they certainly are rather noisy :-)
Great notes, JamesPriest2! The green grocer is one of the loudest insects, so if you don't see it, you might hear it!
