Song Sparrow

Description:

Medium sized, fairly bulky sparrow. Chestnut red, brown and gray in coloration with a heavily streaked breast and flanks. Messy brown spot in the middle of the breast. Gray and chestnut brown striped head with a gray beak. Very common in North America and has wide variation in streaking in the different regions where it is found.

Habitat:

Densly wooded backyard in a neighborhood. Visiting the bird feeders.

Notes:

This bird tended to visit the feeder when there were fewer other birds around.
