They are my nemesis! We have the belted here, and I will pull over to get a picture only to hear it laughing as it wings away. Approaching by boat works - as does(sometimes) rolling down the window before approaching

Great spotting. There are kingfishers (different species) where I live too - they are so hard to spot and get pictures of.
