Cooper's Hawk

Accipiter cooperii

Notes:

As I pulled up to the curb at home after work I looked over to the piece of tree trunk I use as a ground feeder and saw this Cooper's Hawk, I grabbed the camera (always carry it with me for this reason) and started snapping photos as I crept closer. You can see how far away I was when I began shooting and how close I got. I was using a 300mm lens fully zoomed. The unfortunate thing was, it was one of the Cardinals that regularly came to my feeders that it was eating.
