Leanne, I think what you have here is one of the Australian Potter Wasps in the genus Abispa. I've not been able to narrow it down any further than that, but look at this page and the conversation at the bottom of the page: http://www.whatsthatbug.com/2008/02/15/u... . Cool wasp! Nice photo!
