Description:

Small (20mm long) and uniformly black with textured abdomen and thorax. Cerci were long and sturdy.

Notes:

These crickets hide in cracks in the soil/earth during the day and come out to feed on vegetable matter during the night. Adult males make loud "songs" by rubbing their wings together. this cricket might be an immature male. Female lay up to 2,000 eggs within a short life span of a few months.
