Noctuid moth

Proteuxoa atra

Description:

A grey moth about 20mm long and a wing span of 40mm. The wings had black and white mottled patterns with a clear white ringed-ocellus, visible on each hind wing. Thorax had dense white "fur". legs were banded, eyes prominent and antennae sweeping back.

Habitat:

Spotted under bright lights in a car yard.

Notes:

There are several species of this Noctuid moth with varying patterns on the wings.
