Description:

Large, slender, long-bodied wasp.

Habitat:

Found in vacant lot visiting composite flowers. Weeds, grasses, yucca, scattered elm trees dominate.

Notes:

This solitary wasp hunts caterpillars as food for its offspring. Identification verified by A.S. Menke.
