Description:

This guy was feeding alone in a swampy corner of a pond for about 20 minutes before swimming to the other side to join a group of Ring-necked Ducks & Ruddy Ducks. This was the only Scaup I could identify in the area.

Habitat:

Swampy, bog-like area at shallow end of a large pond.

Notes:

Pond also populated by Ring-necked Ducks, Ruddy Ducks, Canada Geese, Mallard Ducks and Hooded Mergansers. No other Scaups were identified in the area.
