Korean tree squirrel

Sciurus vulgaris

Description:

Gray/tan body with tail and ear tufts darker gray. White belly.

Habitat:

Swaths an pockets of mixed trees (ginko, sawtooth oak, daimyo oak, pine) in city park.

Notes:

Cold cold morning in the park. I pretended to be sneaking up on a small feeding flock of elegant buntings while I got closer to this squirrel. When it realized I was shooting it, not the buntings, it gave me the clucking scold and dashed off to higher branches.
