The red winged black bird chased a kingfisher into my path as I was kayaking in the backwaters of the Mississippi near Spruce Creek in Iowa. The area is moderately developed, but the core of engineers makes sure that much of the marshy areas, trees and beaches are left intact.
Photo by Walter Siegmund from Wikipedia. I was kayaking and didn't have the chance to take a photo. I'm sure I will have another opportunity as there are a lot of red-winged black birds in the area. They've chased my sister on her bike in the past so she's not a big fan.
