Puma concolor
This puma was run over on a highway and taken to be cared for in the zoo in my city.
Lives in the three Americas, from Canada to Patagonia.
This specimen was in the zoo of my city, "Ilha de São Pedro" ("St. Peter Island")

That's an interesting spotting! Looks like the puma had a palatochisis or palatal cleft (malformation) between the first and second incisor or quite a deep injury/cut which would have been covered by mucosal tissue.
Poor. I´d prefer to see it when he can get better.
