Description:

A yawning and very calm guanaco rested in the hot part of the zoo it was assigned to. Separated from the mountainous regions it is native to, the guanaco rests and grazes some grass now and then.

Habitat:

Mountainous regions in Argentina, Chile, Perú, Ecuador and Bolivia.

I was on a sheep station once and was told "Sheep don't eat us. We eat sheep!" What they meant was sheep are grazers and don't have top teeth... so they don't bite. Guanaco's seem to be the same. Excellent photos, Patty :-)
