Pitangus sulphuratus
Adult great kiskadees are one of the largest of the tyrant flycatchers. They can measure from 21-27 cm (8.3-11 in) in length and weigh 52-68 g (1.8-2.4 oz). The head is black with a strong white eye stripe and a concealed yellow crown stripe. The upper parts are brown, and the wings and tail are brown with usually strong rufous fringes. The black bill is short and thick.
Seen in an urban neighborhood
The kiskadee ultimately dropped the grasshopper and was very frustrated! (see previous spotting: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/171...)

sweet!
Thanks, Jacob! On the one hand, I felt sorry for the grasshopper but then I felt sorry for the bird as it had tried to hold on to the insect for so long, only to lose it in the end!
Fantastic series! It must have been quite humorous to see him get so frustrated with the grasshopper!
Thanks, Gerardo and Fyn! I had put them in the order in which they were shot, but I'll move the fifth one as suggested.
Lovely! I would suggest making #5 into #1.
Beautiful series :)
