Symphyotrichum novae-angliae

Description:

Medium sized plant with moderately hairy stems. Lanceolate shaped leaves. Flowers have yellow centers with purple petals (can be various shades of purple to pink and rarely white). Flower centers turn darker with age as similar in many Aster species.

Habitat:

Niagara Falls State Park, Niagara Falls, New York. Growing along the edge of a grassy field near the Niagara River right before the Falls.
