Pyrrhuloxia

Cardinalis sinuatus

Habitat:

desert regions, scrub, dry grasslands, open mesquite forest, and cactus gardens

Notes:

It was much tamer than the Northern Cardinals I'm used to seeing. It let me take pictures from a few feet away. It was not paying me any mind, just concentrated on it's little cactus fruit.
