Hilaire’s Toadhead Turtle

phrynops hilarii

Description:

The phrynops hilarii turtle - or "campanita" as we call it - lives in fresh water and eats small birds, rodents and fish. When it gets scared it gets into its shell and becomes quite invulnerable.

Habitat:

It can be found in Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay and southern Brazil.
