Black bit moth

Celiptera frustulum

Description:

Approximately 1/2 inch long. light brown with dark band near end of the tail. It appears to have one long anntenna and one short, (bit I'm not sure if the short one had broken off.

Notes:

Found it dead inside the door that goes out to the garden. Can someone identify?

Looks good! I was obviously fooled by the body shape, which is indeed looking Noctuidae. But looking at the head I should have noticed that it is Erebidae.

I guess it is a Noctuidae. But tricky to choose one, many, many around...
