Violin Beetle

Description:

First time to see this unique Beetle and was very happy to find one. Towards the end of the night, I found total of 5 of them, all in the same trail which I didn't explored at night time before. Violin beetles or Banjo Beetles are ground beetles in the subfamily Lebiinae. They all possess distinctive violin-shaped elytra and live between layers of bracket fungi.

Habitat:

Tropical forest, usually found living between layers of bracket fungi.
