Smooth Ground Cherry

Physalis longifolia

Description:

The tomato’s yellow cousin, the smooth ground cherry, is a small, low-growing plant found in grassy areas. The ground cherry is a yellow green shade when it is unripe, and a sun yellow shade when it is ripe. It has a shiny texture and paper like leaf wrapped around it. It grows on vine with a leaf the size of your palm. You can eat a ground cherry but if under cooked it may be toxic. To learn more search (all about ground cherry.com).
