Dipsas elegans
Dipsas elegans is a beautiful snake endemic to the Pacific slope of Andean Ecuador, a dietary-specialist, it is a lumbricophagous and molluscivorous predator (i.e. it only eats slugs and snails). I found this specimen cruising slowly through the sub-canopy of the cloud forest at Reserva Las Gralarias, Mindo, Ecuador.

It was an amazing find. I like to night hike when I am in the tropical forests-- reminds me of scuba diving. You just never know what you'll encounter out there and the adrenaline gets pumping!
What a pretty little snake!
Muchas gracias!
