Melanitis leda

Description:

brown butterfly. It disappeared completely when it landed - to the point that I almost deleted the photos I had taken of it!

Notes:

All of this series of photos(from grasshoppers to the next few spottings) were taken in Chogm park, across the street from Sprayview hotel

Nymphalidae, Satyrinae, Melanitini, Melanitis sp. and looks like being Melanitis leda, dry season form. Melanitis libya might be another candidate. But looking at the spots and markings I slightly tend to Leda. If you feel not comfortable, I suggest that you take Melantitis sp. as ID as well. Both, Leda and Libya are found in Zimbabwe.
