Pileated Woodpecker

Dryocopus pileatus

Description:

From a Golden Field Guide: Uncommon and local. Solid black back. Conspicuouly crested in all plumages.

Habitat:

Deciduous or mixed forests. My woods are a combination of loblolly pines and deciduous.

Notes:

I had to take the photo through the sunroom's glass so it isn't as clear as I would like it to be, but I have been trying to get a photo of it for a long time. Hopefully, next time, I will be able to get a clearer photo.
