Description:

Numerous warts on the cap, a ring on the upper stem, and a distinctive stem base that features several shaggy "zones" of universal veil material on the upper edge of a basal bulb.

Habitat:

Mixed woods of boreal forest along an escarpment.

Notes:

Whooping Crane Summer Range, Wood Buffalo National Park, Northwest Territories, Canada. Ramsar site no. 240.
