Cool. I looked through a lot and couldn't see anything else with the stripes on the thorax like that.

Thanks Shanna, I like your suggestion. It's really hard to tell from the angle of the shot I took - unfortunately didn't get a chance for a different view - but there do seem to be yellow stripes on the thorax very similar to the female hawker. I'll run with it and see if anyone else suggests otherwise.

That is a tough one, but I'm leaning towards a darter or hawker. Take a look at the pics for female Blue-Spotted Hawkers (Adversaeschna brevistyla) and see what you think.
