Caddisfly Larvae

Trichoptera

Description:

Hermit crab-like creature living inside of a piece of grass. I saw these little things swimming slowly through the water, then when I caught one it just looked like a piece of grass. However upon further investigation I saw that there are these little bugs inside of them. When you put them in the water they use their legs to paddle along very slowly, you can just scoop them right up. Any ideas on what these neat little things are would be appreciated.

Habitat:

Shallow rocky beach.

It may be a caddis-fly larvae. Check this site out and see what you think.
