A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Vitis rotundifolia
These wild grapes are much smaller than the cultivated muscadines I find in the store. This was a very healthy vine. They were growing several grapes to a cluster with many clusters on the vine.
Growing at the edge of the forest next to a suburban neighborhood on a pine tree. This section of the forest is mostly oak and pine.
One of my favorite Florida edibles! They make delicious jelly and I really like the chewy flesh of the grapes when eaten raw as well. However, they have thick skin and large seeds.
