Swamp Milkweed Leaf Beetle

Labidomera clivicollis

Description:

This beetle has an oval, convex body. It has an iridescent greenish black head and prothorax and orange wing covers with black spots.

Habitat:

It feeds on milkweed during June, July and August.

Notes:

About 12 beetles were spotted on milkweed along a swamp on north Cotton Lake road.
