These owls come in both red phase and gray phase colors.

The only way I found this one is someone told me where it was. The tree was right on the side of a road I'd been driving down every couple weeks and I never saw it without being told where to look.
I could not recognize it first since it blended in so well with the tree. It looks almost like the statue of Buddha from South Asia.
I think this picture perfectly explains why I can't find a screech owl.. :)
