Red Crossbills are much like the White-winged Crossbills without the white wings. The range is wider, extending to Central America.
The male is the red one in the first picture and the female is an olive color in the second picture.

Thanks for the nice comments. It was a good winter having plenty of crossbills around. They are sporadic and aren't around every year.
