Virginia bluebell

Mertensia virginica

Description:

Pink buds turn blue when the flower is about to open, and stay blue. The flowers are around 13mm (1/2 in) across. To view a 3D photo, get at least 50 cm (1 ft 8 in) from your monitor, (make sure to look directly at the monitor, not from the side) and cross your eyes just enough to bring the 2 photos together. You should see 3 photos and look at the "center" one. It may take a few seconds to become clear and 3D.

Habitat:

Edge of woods near a creek.
