Weighs about 260 g and measures 25 cm. It has bluish-gray head, down the neck has a purple belt, yellow beak, green wings and red lower abdomen.
It can be found throughout Brazil except the Amazon in rainforests, gallery forests, savannahs and cultivated areas.
