White-throated Sparrow

Zonotrichia albicollis

Description:

Small passerine bird showing a strongly outlined white throat, dark crown stripes and eye lines contrasting with the broad yellow (in front of the eyes) and white or tan eyebrows. Upperparts are rusty brown and underparts grayish as most of the sparrows. Some birds could show a light streaking on the breast.

Habitat:

Common in woodlands undergrowth and brushes. Spend the summer time in Taiga (boreal forest) and winter time in the Appalachians and the southern eastern part of the United States.
