Crotalus horridus
These two individuals were found about 30 ft apart. The pinkish one is the female and was found on the crawl, the tan one is the male and was found coiled up. They were taken back to right where we found them after we had them pretend they liked each other for a few photos :)
Found in an oak wooded and hilly area in eastern LA.

The 'horridus' part of its name refers to its venom, it is pretty potent. But they are pretty calm, I've only ever heard 1 rattle of the 8 I've seen. And bites from this species is much less common than most other species of venomous snakes here in the US!
Gorgeous spotting Ashley. Can't see why it's called horridus.
